Leura, a locality in the City of Blue Mountains, is one of the series of small towns stretched along the Blue Mountains railway line and Great Western Highway that bisects the Blue Mountains National Park.

Location: 100 km by road from Sydney. Leura is adjacent to Katoomba, the largest centre in the upper mountains, and the two towns merge along Leura's western edge.

Leura's elevation of 985 metres above sea level leads to occasional snowfall in winter and a climate that reflects all four seasons distinctly. Leura is home to many formal, English-style, cool-climate gardens, which provide elegant walks and the opportunity to visit when open to the public in early October each year.

Leura is called 'the Garden Village', and every October the Leura Gardens Festival is held. The Leura Gardens Festival is a registered charity and raises money for the Blue Mountains District Anzac Memorial Hospital in Katoomba by opening private gardens to the public. Not connected with the garden festival but also held at the same time is the ever popular Leura Village Fair.

Leuralla Toy & Railway Museum: the Southern Hemisphere's largest collection of toys, trains and associated memoribilia. Whether you're a family or a serious collector, the world class displays of 20th century toys, from Barbie, Popeye, Tintin to Alice in Wonderland, will captivate and entertain. Natural attractions include Sublime Point to the south, which offers panoramic views of the Jamison Valley, and Leura Cascades in the southwest. There is a network of tracks that goes from Links Road to Echo Point, taking in many attractions along the way, including the Pool of Siloam, Leura Cascades, Leura Falls, Jamison Lookout, Linda Falls and the Dardanelles Pass, before ascending to Echo Point via the Giant Stairway. The area is popular for bushwalking and photography.

Leura Oval to End of Gladstone Rd: Time: 1 Hr. 0.5 km SSW of Leura. Length: 1.6 km. Blue Mountains National Park. Climb: 115 m. The walk from Leura Oval to Gladstone Rd is a fantastic way of exploring a small section of the Blue Mountains National Park. You will visit number of scenic spots including the Pool of Siloam and Golf Links Lookout. The cave, picnic area and waterfall at Lyrebird Dell make this a nice place to stop early in the walk. This walk is an excellent way to cross the valley.
