Yuraygir National Park

Yuraygir National Park features 60 kilometres of striking cliffs, rocky headlands, isolated beaches and quiet lake systems, set against a backdrop of forests, heaths, estuaries and wetlands, make Yuraygir the longest stretch of undeveloped coastline in NSW.

Yuraygir Coastal Walk: A great chance for you to take in great coastal views and abundant wildlife including whales, dolphins, ospreys and sea-eagles in the company of an experienced guide. The track lends itself to many opportunities to enjoy and learn about coastal ecosystems while walking through diverse and astounding scenery.


Getting there: This park is near Yamba (6 km, 10 minutes); Maclean (20 km, 20 minutes); Grafton (39 km, 45 minutes); Coffs Harbour (42 km, 60 minutes)

From Grafton head south on the Pacific Highway for 10 kilometres to the Wooli and Minnie Water turnoff. At the T-intersection 25 kilometres in, turn left to Minnie Water to get to Illaroo Camping Area, or right to Wooli. From Wooli Road, turn left onto Diggers Camp Road to get to the Boorkoom Camping Area and Wilsons Headland Picnic Area.
Road quality: unpaved sections

From Coffs Harbour travel north on the Pacific Highway for 43 kilometres, then turn right onto the Barcoongere Forest Way. It's 13 kilometres from the highway to the Station Creek Camping Area.



From Maclean take the Brooms Head Road through Gulmarrad. After 19 kilometres turn left to get to the camping areas at Lake Arragan, Red Cliff and Grey Cliff. Turn right off Brooms Head Road and travel along the Sandon Road for 9 kilometres to get to the Sandon River Camping Area.
