Bernina Express

Semmering Railway

The Semmering Railway, constructed between 1848 and 1854 over 41 km of high mountains, is one of the greatest feats of civil engineering during the pioneering phase of railway building, and is among the world’s first scenic railway.

Glacier Express

The Glacier Express is an express train connecting railway stations of the two major mountain resorts of St. Moritz and Zermatt in the Swiss Alps. For much of its journey, it also passes along and through the World Heritage Site known as the Rhaetian Railway.

Belgrade to Bar Railway

This 476 km long, 11 hour train journey between the Serbian capital of Belgrade and the Adriatic town of Bar in Montenegro is one of eastern Europe’s lesser known travel gems. This spectacular scenic railway passes through 254 tunnels, and over 435 bridges, delighting the traveller with stunning mountain scenery.
